Online Discussions on the NMRT email list

Conference attendance is not the only way to network and learn from others in the field. Asynchronous discussions are held every month on the NMRT-L email list. This provides an avenue to discuss and interact with fellow NMRT members, and share your ideas, advice, concerns, and professional strategies. Upcoming email chats include:

  • November: challenges faced with providing non-traditional services or resources
  • December: collaboration between different library departments
  • January: dealing with “we already tried that” and “that will never work” attitudes towards new ideas

Simply join the NMRT-L email list and keep an eye out for a new discussion at the start of each month. Live chats will also be held every other month, with topics including MOOCS, staff training, and job searching. More information on the live chats is forthcoming (dates, times, and platforms TBA).

Are you on the NMRT-L email list?

Information about NMRT-L, including how to subscribe, can be found here: http://www.ala.org/nmrt/news/nmrtmailinglists

By joining the email list, you will be able to connect with fellow NMRT members (including the monthly online discussions), and receive information about various opportunities and resources offered through NMRT. This is a great way to stay up-to-date and find ways to get involved. Job postings are also frequently shared through the NMRT-L email list.
